Former Vice Chair of Teneo, Fiona Joyce, joins Fourtold as Non-Executive Advisor

September 21st, 2021

Fourtold is strengthening its CEO advisory and strategic communications services with the recruitment of Fiona Joyce, former Vice-Chair of Strategic Communications at Teneo, to its senior team.

Fiona is one of the UK’s most experienced corporate communications leaders and brings huge experience, knowledge, and network to Fourtold, one of the UK’s fastest growing consultancies with clients including Vodafone, PepsiCo, and Johnson & Johnson.

She spent 15 years at Teneo (and formerly Blue Rubicon) including ten years as Partner and Chief Operating Officer. Fiona specialised in corporate reputation management, internal communications and behaviour change working on diverse blue chip and FTSE 100 clients from British Gas and Dow to the Foreign Office and the Department of Health.

She was previously Managing Director UK at Porter Novelli and a member of its Global Executive Board. While at Teneo, Fiona led the organisation’s strategy on people development and creating a common culture across multiple teams and geographies as well as integrating acquisitions and setting up best practice standards for effective teamwork across offices and geographies.

At Fourtold, Fiona will advise our senior team, support our client service excellence as well as advise on strategic growth.

Announcing the news, Fourtold founder and managing partner, Debbie Parriss said: “I’m delighted that Fiona is joining Fourtold and adding her experience and leadership to our Board, where she’ll add greater depth to our strategic communications and advisory services. Her experience in the areas of people and team development will be invaluable to us as we continue to grow and build a culture where people can realise their full potential.”

Fiona said: “I’ve known Debbie for many years and followed the success of Fourtold closely so when the opportunity arose to join its Board as a non – executive director it was an easy decision.

“I’ve been impressed by the team’s very distinctive approach to developing and delivering integrated corporate and advocacy communications programmes – and its work and accomplishments to date would flatter a much larger business let alone one of its size.  Their dedication to client service excellence combined with people development is critically important to my interest in the company.”

Fourtold was set up in 2013 and has a mission to support corporates and sector bodies win trust in the science and technology that will help tackle the sustainability challenges facing the world.

Fiona’s arrival follows other senior appointments by Fourtold, which numbers 25 people in the UK, Belgium, Germany, and the US.

In January, Fourtold recruited Omar Mockbil as managing director of its Brussels offices from Hill+Knowlton Strategies’ Brussels team and over the summer it appointed Tatu Liimatainen as Director of EU Public Affairs, within its EU advocacy comms business.

His appointment builds on Fourtold’s growing science, health and technology client base, and reputation for integrated advocacy and communications work with global organisations – including Vodafone, PepsiCo, Healthy Europe, CropLife Europe (formerly ECPA) and Brewers of Europe – and further expands Fourtold’s team in the UK, Belgium, Germany, and the US.
