CONSULTANT | COMMUNICATIONS

What we are looking for

As a Consultant at Fourtold, you play a hands-on role in delivering integrated communications and public affairs work across policy, media, digital and creative campaigns. You will support day-to-day delivery, gradually take ownership of workstreams, and work closely with senior colleagues to turn strategy into high-quality outputs. Along the way, you will contribute ideas, manage detail with care, and continuously build your confidence, judgement and advisory skills.

This role is well suited to someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys variety.

Experience and knowledge

You bring a strong foundation in communications and public affairs, combined with curiosity and ambition to grow further. You can demonstrate:

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience working in one or more of the following: EU or international institutions; a public affairs or communication consultancy; an in-house communication role in a company; a trade association; or an NGO.
  • A proactive mindset and a strong sense of ownership, with the ability to spot issues early and propose solutions.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong writing skills across short- and long-form content, adapted for different audiences and channels.
  • Experience drafting policy-related content such as briefings, position papers or background notes, alongside more creative or media-focused outputs.
  • A solid understanding of how Brussels works, including experience engaging with policymakers, media and stakeholders at EU or national level.
  • Excellent English writing and presentation skills. Additional languages are a strong asset.
  • You are an EU national or Belgian work permit holder.

Key areas of responsibility

You will support and help drive the delivery of integrated communications and public affairs work, from strategy through to execution. This includes:

  • Acting as a day-to-day project team member across several workstreams, with growing responsibility and ownership.
  • Supporting the development and implementation of integrated communications strategies and campaigns to shape public policy and the surrounding media/social media debate.
  • Drafting a wide range of content, including messaging frameworks, briefings, press materials, opinion pieces, social and digital content.
  • Monitoring media, policy and social media developments and translating insights into clear recommendations.
  • Managing timelines, deliverables and internal coordination to keep projects running smoothly.
  • Contributing to new business development, including research, proposal writing and presentations.

Why should you join us?

  • You will work across policy, communications and creative campaigning across different sectors, not in silos.
  • We offer a full-time position in a growing consultancy with real opportunities to develop and progress.
  • You will be part of a collaborative, respectful team that values trust.
  • A competitive salary package including pension, healthcare cover, bonus scheme and a personal development plan.
  • 25 legal holidays and one additional day off for your birthday.
  • Flexible working arrangements, built on trust and autonomy, to support a healthy work-life balance.
  • Strong focus on learning and development, supported by training opportunities and a wellbeing programme.
  • As a certified B Corp, we embed sustainability and responsible business practices into everything we do.

If you are curious, motivated and keen to build your career in integrated communications and public affairs, we would love to hear from you.

Please note that diversity, equity, and inclusion are essential to who we are at Fourtold. We actively welcome candidates from all backgrounds and experiences, and we are committed to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive.

To apply, please send your CV and motivational letter to shauny.dedonder@fourtold.eu.
